PS5 official confirmations
PS4 was a huge success for Sony. Now everyone is waiting for the upcoming PS5. There are some leaks and rumors hanging around the web and social media about PS5.
We have more questions than answers. What will be the specs, will it support 4K gaming, is there anything new in compared to previous-gen console.
Officially confirmed PS5 backward compatibility
Sony officially announced that PS5 is capable of backward compatibility. “Mark Cerny” ( Sony game designer and lead architecture ) confirms that next-generation PlayStation will be able to run all of your old games.
Even PS4 doesn’t have the official backward compatibility feature. There are a couple of reasons for cross-gen play. First of all, if the PS5 couldn’t play PS4 games, players will be getting upset. And maybe they have to spend money on purchasing the game again.
Secondly, multiplayer games are rapidly growing in the world of gaming. It would be the worst thing for players, that after upgrade on PS5 and they’re not able to play online with their friends who are still using PS4.
A new hardware leak seems Sony’s next-gen console will significantly close the gap between console and extreme gaming pc.
In an exclusive interview between Wired and Mary Cerny, he revels that AMD’s new 3rd gen Ryzen lineup 8 cores 7nm zen2 microarchitecture CPU will be the heart of the device.
And the new custom made Radeon GPU will be capable of ray-tracing. The GPU will have GDDR6 memory and a 9.2 teraflop of computing speed, which makes it more powerful.
In short, the combination of powerful GPU and CPU will take over the overall gaming experience into another level.
Moreover, Mark did say that the custom 3D audio technic can change a player’s gaming experience. He also said that,
“As a gamer,it’s been a little bit of a frustration that audio did not change too much between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. With the next console the dream is to show how dramatically different the audio experience can be when we apply significant amounts of hardware horsepower to it.”Interview between Wired and Mark Cerny
PS5 will support 8K resolution and compatible with PSVR. He didn’t say much about VR. PS5 includes SSD that can load games faster than ever.
In a demo, Cerny played Spider-man on a developer kit of the PS5. It takes only one second but in PS4 pro it takes up to 15 seconds.
There is no official announcement about the price and release date. But hopefully, we will hear in the future from Sony. So, stay tuned with us for the latest update.
